What is Mtekbeta?

We are a small group of spriters who use our spriting abilities to bring you free entertainment! We bring the characters you already know and love to a whole new story... as well as introduce to you our own characters and creations! Occasionally, we do post other things such as Music Videos, downloadables and more! Check back every couple of days, we usually update a few times a week!

How did Mtekbeta start?

Mtekbeta started a number of years ago as a Sonic Fan Game community called Magi-Tek Software. The staff at the time consisted of Maverick the Hedgehog, Trunks and Ninchu. We specialized in making sprites for use in the game creation software called Click & Create (or Multimedia Fusion). Then Trunks got a bright idea to make a comic called "That's my Trunks", a comic whos idea was derrived off of Psycho the Hedgehog's "That's my Sonic" comic. Maverick decided to try his hand at it and created "That's my Maverick", a comic based on the idea of "That's my Sonic" and "That's my Trunks".

Over time, the idea of a Sonic fan game community faded as there were many larger communities with more talented spriters on the Sonic Fan Game Headquarters. We then decided on focusing our time on making webcomics. Soon after this, we hired Gase (or Robert) who was the author of Ninjai Chronicals. After two or three years, he decided it was time to call it quits and left the site.

After this turn of events, the site was completely revamped in PhP using PhP-Fusion and we welcomed Caracal and Enigma aboard our team. Enigma was a talented spriter on the webpage but due to some things arrising at home, he was unable to sprite his comic any longer and had to quit as well. A bit after that, Maverick's wife, Dragon of Light, joined the website and created anime music videos to be posted on the site as well, which inspired Maverick to try his hand at it as well. It wasn't that much farther down the road that we hired Specter, a very talented sprite artist who was also interested in making Music Videos.

However, due to funding, Mtekbeta did go down for a little over 2 months. The site was canceled due to lack of interest on both Trunks and Maverick's part as well as Maverick running low on funding for the server. The site was closed down. Maverick then joined Caracal on SBComicz.com, where he started the Ruins of ßeta. Unfortunately, due to a hacking on that site, both Caracal's and Maverick's sections went down. However, it was thanks to the staff at SBComicz (and a letter stating that Mtekbeta.com was going to soon expire) that Maverick got his inspiration back and decided to bring back Mtekbeta and host it on his other server, magi-tek.com.

And here we are today... a new staff... a new beginning. Maverick, Caracal, HMS, Kirimo, Specter, Frosty Headset, Mika and TyphoonTH... we are the new Mtekbeta!

Currently, we are not hiring any new staff members, however, we can make exceptions for some of you who's work is exceptional or if a member quits or is terminated. Send a sample of your work to Maverick or Caracal
